SB 297 85(R) - 2017 Under current law, overtime pay is tracked weekly for Department of Public Safety officers. If they exceed 40 hours for any one calendar week, then that employee is entitled to overtime pay. This bill would amend that by replacing it with tracking every 24 hours. If an employee works more than eight hours in a 24 hour period, then they are entitled to overtime pay or leave as well as if an officer works over 40 hours in one week.Read More
